The minority government of Stephen Harper is heading into its summer recess.  It will give the M-P’s some time to catch their breath following a busy two and a half months of work since being sworn in.

Prince George-Peace River M.P. Jay Hill says, so far,  the mood from  the people  he has spoken with across the country has been pretty upbeat "I’ve had a chance to talk to a lot of people, including many who did not vote for our party, and they are pleased with what we have accomplished so far."

Hill says  the Harper team has been sticking to the 5 priorities outlined during the election campaign "People are telling me the big surprise, is that there has been no big surprise, we have followed through on those priorities and generally, people are pleased."

During the campaign there was plenty of  talk that Harper had a hidden agenda, Hill says people now see that just wasn’t true.

"People are telling me they are actually finding it refreshing to have a government that is following through on what it said it would do" says Hill.
