News of his departure from the "Coast" has spread through the community like wildfire as he has been touted as reason why the hotel has done so well during his near decade of leadership. "I really didn’t do much" says Douglas "I just had a great team at a great hotel. The Coast is a reflection of the character of the community. It is strong, fun, beautiful, and fiercely proud."
Douglas will be taking charge of the newly completed "Village" hotel in Whistler. It is an opportunity he just couldn’t pass up, especially with the Olympics on the horizon "I have some real challenges ahead of me" says Douglas, "The Village is a very different hotel. I will have my hands full that’s for sure, but I will also have a great team to work with and to learn from".
