There is some good news and some bad news on the B.C. economic crystal ball.

The RBC Investment Group says on the plus side,  the province will finish the year in third spot among the provinces when it comes to growth, and will be in second place by the end of 2007.

On the  other side of the coin, there's that softwood lumber deal which RBC says is "a mild near-term positive, longer term it could be more of a bane than a boon to the forestry sector."

The projection also raises some concerns about commodity pricing, saying they are slipping and pose a risk to the economic growth of B.C.
