Kelly Road School was off limits Thursday June 15th because of a bomb threat (opinion250 file photo)
It has been just over a week since the students at Kelly Road Secondary School were given the day off because of a bomb threat. Prince George RCMP don't yet have a suspect.
Here's what they do have:
They know the call was made from a pay phone in front of the Hartway RV Park in the 7700 block of SOuth Kelly Road.
They know the call was made at 7:19 in the morning of the 15th of June and vehicles could be heard on the road in the background.
That is pretty much it. They have received several of tips, but nothing that would lead to charges. They are asking for the public's help on this one. They are hoping to hear from anyone who may have spotted someone near the payphone at the time and day in question. Tips can be made to the Prince George detachment at 561-3300 or by calling crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
More than 900 students were sent home from the school on the day the call was made. The Administration says it is not uncommon for such threats to be issued at this time of the year, but the nature of this call was such that it sparked real alarm and that is why the school was closed for the day.
