A fire of approximately 30 hectares is burning west of Prince George, about 42 kilometres down the Pelican Forest Service Road.

Forty firefighters from Prince George and Vanderhoof are on the scene, as well as forestry personnel with heavy equipment. Two helicopters are providing water support.

The B.C. Forest Service is asking everyone to be extremely cautious in the woods as the forest fire danger is now high to extreme throughout the region.
