The Cariboo Fire Centre says some of the blazes burning in the region have slowed, but others have increased in size.

Fire Information Officer Kim Steinbart says the cooler temperatures are weakening the flames somewhat; the Wutlus Lake fire in the Nazko Valley, west of Quesnel, is still roughly nine thousand hectares in size.

And though officials say the Narcosli Lake fire is still very active, it is still covering an area of approximately sixteen thousand hectares, or 160 square kilometres.

The Tezla Lake fire, north of Anahim Lake is now listed at 120 square kilometres, but Steinbart says that measurement came after smoke in the area dissipated and officials were able to obtain a more accurate reading.

The Cariboo Fire Centre has now added campfires to the list of burning restrictions in the region, along with backyard and industrial pile burning.
