Prince George’s four Rotary clubs gathered at the Coast Inn of the North over the lunch hour to hear from the Rotary International President elect, Wilf Wilkinson.  

A retired chartered accountant from Trenton Ontario, Wilkinson is the first Canadian to hold the post as President of Rotary International in 55 years and the first ever to visit Prince George.

Wilkinson is visiting the Rotary clubs in the smaller communities as part of a fact finding tour and to bestow speical honours on some who have shown extra dedication to  projects and programs.  Those recognized for their special contributions are:

Debbie Byl and David and Janice Wharrie.

"I wish I had the time to visit all of the clubs in the Rotary world, but that is not possible" Wilkinson told the group.  He says he wants to find out what the clubs are thinking and doing, and how Rotary International can help "lead the way".  With praise for many of the Rotary projects carried out by the clubs in this area. "I am sure it should make you very proud to be a Rotarian".
