Report on Radiation Facility Presented to Premier

No one wants to say too much about it, but Northern Health Chair Jeff Burghardt and former UNBC President Charles Jago  are set to present their report on a cancer care strategy to Premier Campbell.

"The Premier commissioned the report and we have a private meeting with him to present the report," said Charles Jago, the co-author of the study which has taken more than 6 months to complete.

The report is the result of a call for radiation therapy to be offered in the north.  Dr. Jago and Jeff Burghardt held  public meetings in 17 communities across the north in an effort to gain information on  how cancer care could be improved. 

The  report was to be delivered to the Premier following the opening of the G.R. Baker  third floor renovation project in Quesnel. 

It is expected the report will be made public some time this fall.
