Regional District To Examine Phone Plan

It has been about a year since the Regional District of Fraser Fort George last looked at a plan to have all  phone calls  in the region, "local".  That item will be back before the  Directors today when the Board meets for its monthly session.

Also on the agenda, a request to increase liquor seating at the Bednesti Lake Resort.  The request calls for a 30 seat outdoor patio.

The Highway 16-97 Economic Alliance  reps will make a presentation calling on the Regional District to  join  the group.

In the last 20 plus years, I have often wondered with the technology we have today,how come the phone lines have not been upgraded.
It would be great to be able to call the neighbor three doors down and not pay long distance charges. and..... not get charged for calling home when it doesn't cost to call town. Same phone line, same distance.
