Forget about the “chef’s secret recipe”.  The company that has developed the special spice mix that adds that special flavour to restaurant steaks has gone public.
Steakspice.com is a family operated Prince George based company that has decided to go public with the blend of spices that has been a family treasure for more than half a century.
This blend of steak spices has been sold for over 10 years to select clients, (it is many steakhouse chef's secret steak spice) and has been used for cooking steaks for big events, conventions and weddings.  In fact, there’s a pretty good chance you have already tried the spice.
The company says the ingredients are very expensive and at one time thought of stopping its sales because their profit margin was very slim compared to the time and effort it takes to produce the steak spice.   Their customers wouldn’t hear of it.  So, in order to keep the product on the market, the company decided instead to turn to the Internet to try and boost sales, as where there is volume, there are cost savings.
The labeling is simple, plain brown wrapping, reminiscent of the butcher paper used to wrap fine cuts of meat.  The instructions are simple, heavily coat both sides of steak 1 to 12 hours before cooking.
The company isn’t relying 100% on the internet, the product  is available in Prince George at Homesteader Meats in the Parkhill Centre.

I will continue to support local business people trying to make a living in this city. This is where most of the fundraising, community involvement activities take place and it's always the locals who are stepping up to the plate to support local groups. I

t's time to support them back and forgo the big box stores.
