Three organizations in the Prince George Region have received funding for programs aimed at battling crystal meth.

Carrier-Sekani Family Services, and the P.G. Native Friendship Centre each received $10,000  and School District 57  was granted $2,285.

Solicitor General John Les made the announcement today, saying the  programs will  go a long way to raising awareness of the dangers of crystal meth, and assisting those who are at risk.

The grants are from the $2 million dollar fund established by the Provincial Government last fall and administered by the Union of B.C. Municipalities.  In all, grants were issued to 160 applicants.

Must be some kind of joke!
$2285.00 to $10,000.00 would not get into the petty cash of an addict, who gets rid of $10,000.00 a month in many cases.
Saw a crystal meth addict on T V and he claimed he spent $25,000.00 in six months, and that is supposed to be a cheap drug?
I cannot understand why people will sacrifice their lives and their loved ones for the sake of drugs.
I have even seen a happy dog turn into a depressed animal when it's owner turned to drugs. Must have been ordered to get out of the way lots. I feel sorry for the addict, and I sure felt sorry for the animal. I felt sorry for the kids too, as being around an addict daily must be a terrible life, especially when the addict goes off the deep end when needing more drugs. They make life a "living Hell" for everyone around them, and they are so unpredictable one never knows when they will strike out. Absolutely horrible.
Yet I read where the police bust a crack house on a Friday, and the following Friday bust the same crack house. Does the Justice system want people incapable of thinking, so therefore maybe controllable. How do they think people can live a decent life when they drug it up, gamble, drink, etc, and have to eventually resort to crime to support habits? How do they think kids can grow up and not be emotionally disturbed adults, subjected to constant failures in their lives, and relationships?
Jails might cost money, but nothing compared to the results of society being destroyed and lives becoming meaningless.
The drug addict cares about no one, being the most self centered humans living. Put them away-make them get clean, but first get rid of all the crack houses, pushers, and work to remove the availability of drugs.
Society is on a path to self destruct.
I would not care if they never fixed a pothole for years-if they could use the money to make the country drug free.
Those grants by the government are an insult.
