As Prince George City Council wrapped up it's meeting Monday night, the average person would walk away thinking the Battle of the Hockey Enforcers was a dead issue.

Not so.

Council received ten letters and a petition on the matter. Some for, some against, one from as far away as Ottawa.  Councilors received the materials as information, so the senders and the signers know Council saw their work, but there was to be no debate, no discussion.

The information was too late to make a difference, as Council reversed an earlier decision on the matter, clearing the way for the August 27th event to go ahead and wiping out legal action the promoter was threateneing to launch.

You have to pay to see it, so if you don't want to see it, don't pay. Don't go - the choice is ours to make. City Council hopefully did enough research to make the right decision legally, as far as moral decision goes? The participants are of legal age and free to choose entry or not, just as the viewers are free to choose. Since it is a violent scenario, age limit should be mandatory. End of story.
