Water Main Break Causes Some Damage
By 250 News
City crews have responded and dealt with a water main break that occurred overnight at Melville and Laurier, says Kevin Sanregret, Supervisor of Utility Operations for the City. Some residences in the area were downstream from the break, in a bowl area, says Sanregret, so the break has caused some problems. A few homes have been affected, but exact numbers and type of damage aren’t known as all reports may not be in. Damages may include such things as basement flooding, damage from water running through lawns, or deposits of silt on property. The cause of the break in the eight inch pipe is still unknown, says Sanregret, adding that the City is sorry homeowners in the area have been inconvenienced. The typical process in these types of cases is for affected homeowners to contract their insurance companies.
