The Heritage Commission  has been given the go ahead to  proceed with a "Heritage Registry" and  that project will start with a special information session set for next month.

Both Kelowna and Kamloops have  this kind of registry.

Prince George City Council has approved moving forward with the Registry as a key component in the development of the Heritage Strategic Plan.  The report was  initially presented to Council in March of this year, however, it was referred to Administration for more information on time lines and costs.

Those questions have not yet been clearly answered so  the Heritage Commission and  Administration have been directed to prepare a further report on the priorities, timelines, costs and revenue sources.  The details are expected to be put before Council in time for the 2007 budget discussions.
