Burns Lake Tops Pledge to Medical Trust

Burns Lake has fulfilled its pledge to the Northern Medical Programs Trust, raising $65,700.  That is more than $12.5 thousand dollars over the originally pledged amount of  $53,060.00

The Northern Medical Trust supports students in the Northern Medical Program. The pledge amounts are based on populations.

The pledge amounts range from $7500 in the community of Wells, to $2million in Prince George, with  an overall goal of $6 million dollars.

So far, $3.8 million has been raised.

In accepting the donation, UNBC President Don Cozzetto expresed a "Heartfelt thank you to the Citizens of Burns Lake"  He told the Mayor of Burns Lake  "This community  has been exemplary in its local fundraising efforts and the students are benefiting most."
