Kinder Morgan Pipeline plan shown in map above

There is no shortgae of pipeline activity  through the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.  The Regional District staff prepared and presented  a report on all the proposed and  currently under construction lines that will call for some involvement  from the Regional District.

The projects include:

  • Enbridge (Gateway Pipeline Inc),  proposed
  • Pembina (Plateau Pipeline Ltd),
  • Pacific Natural Gas, and
  • Kinder Morgan Canada Inc (Terasen Pipelines [Trans Mountain] Inc).

All of these proposals are going into or through comprehensive review processes involving federal and provincial agencies. It is believed that the Terasen Pipeline’s proposal is the farthest along in the process.

"We are going to be involved in this to some degree, in some cases more than others" says Chairman Colin Kinsley. "Ourselves and our First Nations neighbours will have a fair amount of work to do," says the regional Chair.

Still, with the potential of creating jobs to  install and maintain the lines,  the work towards making it all happen is welcomed by Kinsley "It’s good, it’s going to be healthy, a lot of economic activity."

The pipelines are the precurser and enabler of everything else petroleum related. Once the pipeline and their feeder lines are in then the returns can be realized immediately for potential exploration projects kicking the region into phase two.

Phase three IMO is the secondary spin off industry that makes the possiblities endless.

Huge things would happen if its light sweet we find under our feet. Imagine that as it makes up only about 4% of world production, comes with a premium, and drives the secondary possibilities. We would have an edge over Alberta. That is what I suspect could be there if anything.
A few years back the Terasen Pipeline was also supposed to go into Kitimatt when originally envisioned. I never did hear why it was they chose the other option and went thorugh Kamloops insteed to the Lower Mainland ports. IMO it would have been bigger than the Enbridge to our region (connectivity), but I guess you can't win them all especially when your not in the game to begin with.
Sounds like another tax increase to me without anything to show for it.
If Kinsley is involved in it I trust it not!
chatter i hope you are right
