Former Mayoralty Candidate Leads Committee
By 250 News
It is called the Mayor’s Committee on Youth, and it is being lead by a young man who wanted to be Mayor.
Ryan Yorston had his name on the ballot last fall, and while he didn’t make it to the top job in the City, he did get enough notice to warrant a post as Chair of the Youth Committee.
Yorston says the newly formed committee will meet every month, and will conduct a survey to gain input from young people so the City can better identify and tackle issues important to the young people of Prince George.
The survey will be distibuted throughout areas in the City where young people gather. The Committee hopes to work with the School District, the College of New Caledonia and UNBC in gathering information, formulating responses, and implementing any changes needed.
The Committee on Youth was an election promise made by Mayor Colin Kinsley during the last municipal ballot. The Committee will be made up of ten members, all appointed by the Mayor.
Some of the Committee’s objectives include:
-improving the quality of life among young people in Prince George
-to act as a means of communication or liason between youth and the Mayor’s office
-to encourage and promote youth volunteerism.

What a wonderful way of being sure you get the answers you want or not get the questions you wish to avoid.
My confidence in our mayor has now really took a plunge to the depths of non-trust.
Enjoy your job while you have it.
There is another election in the future and I know where my vote isn't going.
