Acting Mayor, Don Zarowski and Councilor Murry Krause serve up weiners

This afternoon at City Hall, City Councilors cooked up lunch for 150+ people. The event rose a further estimated $2,300 for the Northern Medical Programs Trust. In addition, the Knights of Columbus pulled through with a donation of $1,084 raised from previous similar events.

Attendees were greeted with music from local artists and walked away with a stuffed animal to take back to their offices.  Stuffed animals will be available after today at various merchants around Prince George.   Proceeds will continue to benefit the trust.

Funds raised will go towards a bursary program that will help train and keep doctors in our northern communities.

“Today’s event celebrates the program as well as raises money for the trust”, says acting Mayor, Don Zurowski.

That is great $3400 bucks, we are only 10 million short, sounds like a huge success to me, woohoo! Let me know when some real money gets raised.

be informed , educated, and most of all entertained, listen to the spankshow!
Perhaps that will fund a student or two for a semester. Much more is needed to solve this...and arguably much more is being done.

Awareness through such events is good, but what about outside our city?
Wow-just what we all needed to hear-a whopping success story, staged right at city hall, with standing room only hot dog buyers. Hate to be sarcastic, but how many people employed by the city, and did they all have a hot dog for lunch??? And a stuffed animal yet to sit on their desks!!!! Nice touch!!!!!
This is sure to be the "success story of the month" in this city.
Am I impressed??? You be the judge!!!!
The goal of the trust is to get $6 million.

I am not sure where we are at. I believe PG is trying to raise $2 million of that according to the City Hall site.
