Fence boards are scattered across the yard where a stolen truck went a fence and damaged a home.

Prince George RCMP say charges have now been laid against a 34 year old man in relation to a pursuit that wound its way through the Hart area on September 1st.  According to police, the chase started  after they had received a call about two badly damaged vehicles driving erratically in the North Nechako Road - Foothills area.

Officers were lead on a chase that  went through the Chief Lake, and Reid Lake areas.  One vehicle, a green Jeep Cherokee, rammed a police car  injuring an  RCMP officer  (see Mountie Injured in Pursuit).  The driver of the  Jeep was arrested.

The second  vehicle, a white Dodge pickup, continued on  and that part of the  chase ended  when the police threw a  spike belt across Frontage Road.  The vehicle  then  went through a fence and hit the side of a home in the 7200 block of Frontage Road and the Hart Hwy.  The driver abandoned the vehicle, and police made an arrest after a short foot  chase.

Charged with Posession of Stolen property over $5,000.00, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from a Peace Officer Causing Pursuit and Breach of a Recognizance is 34 year old Clifford Arthur Walker.

So, here we have another example and opportunity to show how we deal with people such as Clifford Walker.

I challenge our Police, our Lawyers, our Judges and our Judicial system to do the right thing and apply the maximum sentence to this fellow to possibly deter the next person from considering similiar behavior.

Then, while he is working off all of the damage, injury, and grief he caused others, he will possibly have time to reflect on the consequences of his behavior. I'm sure some well intended persons will attempt to understand him and comfort him and maybe encourage him to smarten up. I am so sick and tired of people continually making excuses for their behavior. Chester
I agree, and what about like someone else said. Get your prisoners fitted with orange jumpsuits and leg chains since it seems to be too barbaric to have guards with real guns watching them. If he had the energy to run from the work site they must not be working hard enough. I was also very disappointed in our media "coverage" on this article. I guess being a long weekend we had to wait till later to find out if we had some crazy killers running around out our way. If this was something that had happened in the States it would've been all over the news. It would be nice to be kept informed. Paladin
