Art Knapp's South Store Shutting Down

Jos Van Hage is closing one of the three Art Knapp Garden Centres in the Prince George area.
Known as the "south store" the garden centre at the corner of the old Cariboo Highway and Highway 97 is shutting its doors.
That particular site has been part of a plan for a gas station / truckstop. The challenge so far for that development has been getting clearance to have the parcel removed from the Agricultural land reserve.
The other two Art Knapp centres, on Highway 16 west, and Highway 97 north will continue operations.
The closing out sale of the "South" store begins today.

That part of the City is really not a growth area. The other two stores are much more conveniently located for the population. In addition, there has been a proliferation of "garden centres" attached to big box retail since he first opened, which I would assume has had an impact as well.
