Hundreds of Motorcyle enthusiasts turned out at CN Centre for the annual Toy Ride

The weather is being given some of the credit for the success of today's Motorcycle Toy Ride.  Organizers say 560  motorcycles took part, and with many riding two up,  its estimated there were about 800 people on the ride.

Riders gathered at the parking lot of the CN Centre for the afternoon event.  Many had  toys and stuffed animals strapped  on to their bike, others dropped cash into the Salvation Army's Kettle.

The bikes  covered the three "C's":

"Classic"

"Chopped"                                                          "Custom"

The ride  is an annual event which has become the largest toy drive of the year to benefit the Salvation Army.

This year there were enough toys and stuffed animals to fill a cube van.

Roared is the word all right....
yes you have the right to ride motorcyles but what gives you the right to disturb the peace.
When I can hear you coming/going for over 5 blocks I tend to think them just a tad loud!
Now for the good part...
thank you for your participation in making some youngsters Christmas a little nicer...
The roar of the bikes in the distance has become as anticipated as the falling of leaves. I relish both, but only for a short period of time.

I know this is off topic and may be interpreted by some as just me displaying my name. But that is not the case. The proprietors of this site have labelled me "childish" and the such. I strive to entertain and that has always been my goal. Sometimes I may offend, butI am sure I have enduced a chuckle from most who read my posts. When the day came that I was publicly ridiculed by Opinion 250 for having just an opinion, well that day, I decided I was done on the 250. Farewell to all, the Spankshow is over

so long, friends.
Hey Spanky..sign off and leave already!! Are you going to sign off on every news article??
Am I next?
Spank who ?
Can I be next ?
A very worthy and thoughtful cause by local motorcylists.

I must be getting old and fuddy duddy but I really think some of these bikes ought to have some kind of muffler system.

In Vancouver there is a bylaw in the works to ticket the riders with excesive noise. You can bet the cops will give you a ticket the minute your muffler falls off your car regardless if you are on your way to a muffler shop, yet Harleys can roar right buy a squad car and continue on their way.

Spanky and Yammy, I do get a kick out of you guys, hang in there, a little humor is always welcome in such a serious world today.
Thanks to all the great folks who help to make some kids Christmas' a little better. Often times, all we hear is people who whine and complain about kids and how horrible they are, without even lifting a finger for helping kids.

These fellows and gals can cause a little ringing in my ears for one day a year if it means some kids will benefit.

It was a heartwarming spectacle. Fun, friends, fellowship, food, fantastic toy donations. Let's do it even bigger next year. CN Centre was an excellent choice of venue, a big thanks to the city of P.G. for allowing it to happen.
I agree that some of the bikes are too loud, they don't have to be, without exception, theses have been modified from stock. The 'blat' is offensive to many people, bikers and non bikers alike. I would include a fair number of pickup trucks and cars, gas and diesel powered, that have obnoxiously loud exhaust notes, also modified from stock. But, once a year for a good cause should not offend anyone.
Metalman
Admittedly, there are a few who would not qualify for performances on the "Comedy" hour.
Yes, I agree with a few of the above posters they should retire, as this site lends itself to a more serious nature.
Perhaps a "jokester" site would be more to their liking.
I, for one, admire the energy displayed by these motorcycle enthusiasts in performing a good deed.
How many other clubs go to such lengths?
If the noise of the bikes is disturbing, exit to a quiet place to avoid being offended.
When people strive to do some good, there are still those who must seek out a reason to complain.
So be it.
