The President and CEO of Geoscience BC says companies are acting fast!

Dr. Lyn Anglin says following the release of the Geoscience report that identified 60 potential sites for exploration for gold and copper in the Ootsa , Nechako basin in July of this year,  17,000 hectors were staked that day, and more have been staked since then. (see previous story)

"By operating in the manner we do" said Dr. Anglin "We (Geoscience) are able to give these mining companies a head start."

A report on the total number of claims staked to date is expected to be released later today by the Ministry of Mines.

Meantime Dr. Anglin says "We have had some interesting questions posed to us about oil and gas in the same region but still no takers."  There still remain a lot of Geoscience questions before companies are willing to start putting money into it.

"I will say" adds Dr. Anglin "more and more companies are getting interested, very interested in the area."

As long as the the NDP does not get voted back in maybe mining in BC might have a chance.
I'm gonna put down claim stakes where they plan to build the new casino. I'm sure I'm gonna find gold there someday.
