Boat Launch Gets Dollars

City of Prince George has approved giving the Prince George River Boat Association $80 thousand dollars of tourism fuding that has been held incontingency  for theconstruction of the Nechako Boat Launch project.

The launch  reconstruction is expected to cost $250 thousand dollars with a great deal of that in materials and time donated by local companies.

The $80 thousand dollars comes from the Union of BC Municipalities for tourism development.

Constructionof the boat launch on the Nechako River will start in two or three weeks.

Next expect the Serria Club to be making a presentation to have a motion to declare the Fraser and Nechako a non-motorized park.

After all you can't get closer than 164 feet to the top of bank to save the fishes, so how can anyone be allowed on the water?

The Fraser has all ready been declared a World Heritage River, and that is the same route the Tatashien went.
It is amazing how many feel that tax payers should pay for there entertainment.
More amazed at how many on city council agree.
Gofaster, I doubt the boater had any choice about what they had to do. At least they have access to the river now.

It's too bad the city had to spend more than $80,000 for the MultiPlex or the UNBC Sport Center or the (building beside the Legion whatever it's called) etc. Best bang for the buck the city has done for a while.

I don't agree but that is fine....
we have two boat launches now, at least...
is another really needed...

Why not put the $$ towards getting the Cameron Street bridge back?
I agree with this decison by city council. Money well spent IMO.
