This is the site  for the planned new RCMP building.

As expected, Prince George City Council has received the report which identifies the block of 4th  to 5th  along Victoria as the site for a new RCMP building.

The staff report says the site is suitable in that it meets the requirements of encouraging downtown revitalization and meets the logistical needs of the RCMP while addressing economic concerns.

Wonder who provided the report? Does anyone recall a report that identified the Police, Fire and Ambulance be stationed in the same location on Winnipeg St. between Carney St. and the 15th Ave. overpass?

One location that utilized one set of dispatchers for all three emergency services and one centrally located facility seems to make sense to me, rather than keeping each one independant.

With the addition of the Layered Response Program years ago, they are all supposed to be working together in responding to most calls. So, why couldn't they also share in the same facility? Chester

Because then there would be too many outside witnesses to all the in-custody deaths.
Downtown revitalization? Any new building downtown will revitalize it? That is what it sounds like.

"Hey kids, let's all go for a drive downtown and have some fun. We can go and see where people gamble. Then we can go and see where the police work. Isn't that going to be a fun day. Remember, we always used to go down on Brunswick street to see all their cars parked. And you could look in the windows to see all the neat equipment.

"Well, now they have a brand new building right on Victoria and we can walk by and admire the nice new offices through one way glass."

"And after we got our hot chocolate at the brand new Tim Horton's right next door, mommy will take you to go shopping out at Westgate and the yellowhead highway."
Has anyone ever thought that people should play SimCity first before working with the real thing?
