After accepting a UNBC Athletics Jacket, UNBC President Dr. Don Cozzetto presents a signed Timberwolves basketball to Timberwolves Athletic Association Director Brent Stone.

UNBC has one more tool to encourage enrolment.  It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Timberwolves Athletic Association.

The Association has Society status and the agreement  sets up a working relatinship that will see the Association undertake fundraising efforts to help fund transportation costs,  equipment purchases,  and scholarships.   The aim is to further the goals of UNBC athletics.

UNBC President Don Cozzetto says the  new relationship is a plus for everyone " It will attract student athletes to participate,  it will also bring other students who are engaged in athletics but aren't necessarily student athletes.  It brings a visibility and a marketability to the university that will help propel us into the next dimension."  Cozetto also says the Association's work in terms of fundraising and connecting with the community will be  "Essential as we aim for competition in the national university level."

The Timberwolves Athletic Association will launch its first major fundraiser in the weeks to come.  Meantime, a reminder the Timberwolves Basketball season gets underway this  Friday and Saturday
