Garbage Truck Rolls Driver Charged

Waste management truck on its side at intersection of North Nechako Road and the John Hart off ramp         

No one seriously injured but traffic was tied up  for a few hours after a private waste management truck rolled over while making the turn onto the North Nechako road from the John Hart Bridge.

The accident occurred just before noon and a crane was called to the scene to upright the truck.

The 42 year old driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuires.  He has since been charged  under the Motoro Vehicle Act, but police have not  released the nature of the charges.

Yep..Looks like he was going way too fast for that corner!!
He could have had a top heavy load. I saw one of those things go over before and the guy was driving the proper speed. They had loaded the top of the bin with sopping wet newspaper, tons of it. The bottom was dry bales of crushed cardboard.
At least everyone's OK.
Another "professional" driver. You sure see a lot of trucks losing their loads and up side down in the ditch latley.
Doesn't surprise me a bit! A similar looking "....Sanitation" truck has been roaring through our subdivision at speeds of 75 clicks or more for years! The speed limit is 50 km/h.

The driver must be getting paid by the load instead of by the hour.
Charges have been laid against the driver so the driver was doing something wrong....
they didn't say what...probably to embarassing for the company and driver.....
At the speed those drivers for WM travel its surprising more do not roll !
