Prince George RCMP say a woman is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash on Highway 16  west of Prince George.

Police say a truck had pulled on to the highway from the Gregg Forest Service road just west of Mud River, and a piece of firewood  fell off the truck onto the highway.

A woman  veered to dodge the firewood and crossed the highway.  Her vehicle flipped once before landing on its wheels in the opposite ditch.   She has been taken to Prince George Regional Hospital and is believed to be suffering from serious injuries.

Also suffering from a serious lack of driving skills. Will she be charged, like the garbage truck driver was??
The driver of the pickup truck should have to bend over and have his firewood returned to him.....
I can't believe some of the garbage comments on this site. A driver on a highway swerves to avoid hitting a log and gets seriously injured as a result, and you insult her. Unbelievable!
I agree, comments like this indicate a lack of compassion for an unfortunate person. Disappointing. Chester
Gofaster, you got a funny bone!!! Hee hee!

As for the rest of the comments - get real. How could you all be such bad drivers as to believe a terrible driver - suffering from self inflicted injuries - should not be charged, or at least have her driving licence suspended until she has passed a driving skills course. You all know there are lot of terrible drivers out there, don't you think we are lucky she didn't kill someone?
Where would your sympawthy be then, everywhere, for everyone? What kind of responsibility and skill level do you think drivers should have?

I want better drivers. Not sympathy.

Soory about the spelling - have my grandson
sitting on my lap. He was in a car accident while six months due and another one at six months old. Lucky he is OK.
She should be made to drive up and down Foothills Blvd. 200 times, dodging all the garbage falling out of the back of people's pickups. That would make her a better driver.

Also: Insecure Load = $135 coupon.
I think we all need to be careful when driving. There are a few out there that as soon as they get behind the wheel their brains seem to shut off.
With the way the story was written and with the information given, it would be hard to blame or accuse this woman of bad driving.
The person who pulled onto the road with the unsecure load on the other hand.......
Get well lady.......
Gofaster good comment on the firewood return. My grandson was also in an accident 6 months due and six months old. We are thankful Mom and son are doing well. Both cases were the other driver running stop signs and red lights.
Its not the ladies fault IMHO.

But these idiots that cannot secure a load should get a healthy fine of say $100,000 and about a 10 year suspension from driving to maybe help them learn to be responsible in the future.

And as a side note....Yama that was an uncalled for comment against a person who was injured by another persons negligence.
Marty, I don't see it that way at all. I'd stand by her bed side a curse her if that would help make my point. There are simply too many drivers that will over steer or over react and end up flipping the vehicle. Statistically, most of these types of accidents are women, so maybe that's why we put up with so many needless crashes from problems with driver skills.

The idiot that lost a piece of fire wood should pay a fine also, but the roll over is not his fault.
