Prince George City Council got the full promo for this weekend's "Folkfest".

Set to take place at Fort George Park  on the 22nd and 23rd there will be 28 bands on the stage over the two days.  A Family oriented program, the organizers say anyone wanting to attend shouldn't get caught on the "folk" part of the festival, that it will encompass many types of music.

It is hoped the Folkfest will contribute some where in the area of four million dollars.

Promoting Northern Artists,  the organizers of the Prince George FolkFest say with 144 artists (28 bands) from Belfast, Australia, and all across Canada the music styles are as varied as their homes.

While touting the contributions of the sponsors of the show, (including City Hall), the organizers say people still need to buy tickets to ensure that this event  stays alive.
Show sponsor John Brink of Brink Forest Products, challenged all other members of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce to follow his company's lead and buy 10 tickets for $500.

What is the scoop here. John Brinks gets the bouquets and accolades because he is a sponsor. Give the credit where the credit is due. To JO and GREG BEATTY, and mostly to JO, who is a tireless, devoted and dedicated worker attempting to bring music appreciation to this damn city. The kissing up to Brinks is disgusting, and the true organizers do not get named. Shame on you all.
Well, you just keep on "guessing" krisb, but until you know or saw what took place, your opinion is not worth a hill of beans. Now get real. I watched the proceedings, so I do not rely on "guesswork." Please, please, do not run for council,as you previously stated you were considering. We don't need the agony!!!!
Gypsy, you are my hero......... Let the record state, IMO the BRINKer may do it all for cheap publicity but he puts his money where his mouth is. Organizers are a dime a dozen and are usually working for monetary benefit or accolades from there buddies like you. Remember that it is cash that brings the performers to town, not good intentions.
