It was item number 22B on the agenda for the Regional District of Fraser Fort George:
"This is to advise the Board that pursuant to section 212 of the Local Government Act, the Regional District has received a letter of resignation from Dee Burden, Director for Electoral Area A. The resignation from office is effective Thursday October 12th, 2006.
A report will be presented at the November meeting of the Board regarding the various corporate actions that must be considered as a result of the resignation.
Respectfully submitted,
"Tom Yates"
T. Yates
General Manager of Corporate Services."
The Board received the information in a matter of moments, and moved on.
There were no comments, no questions.
Dee Burden resigned just days before pleading guilty to defrauding the Royal Bank of more than $31 thousand dollars. She has been sentenced to one year conditional sentence with curfew, and one year probation.
At the Board's next meeting it is expected an Elections Officer will be named and that will start the process which requires a by-election to be held within an 80 day limit.
