Nine months ago they watched the Winter Olympics, next month the Prince George Blizzard Speedskating Club and Fort St James Falcons Speed Skating Club will be represented in their own mini-Olympics in Italy. The Torino Global Club Competition will attract speedskating clubs from eighteen countries across four continents.

Five members of the Prince George Blizzards, Sarah Pousette, Tim Hempsall, Russell Smedley, Alexis Gaudet and James Ingle will join Jessica Leech of Fort St James in the November 17-19 international event.

A ten member delegation representing Prince George and the Northern Region will also be in Torino to explore the feasibility of Prince George hosting the Global Club Competition in 2008.
