Over the Hill and Into the Soup

Heading into Prince George early this morning from Highway 16 (the turn off to Mr.G's on the left of the photo).

As you come to the crest of the hill that will lead you down past the jail, drivers are met by a wall of smog.

Although  the odour rating is high (24 hour rate at 6:00 a.m was 133), the actual levels of Pm10 ( fine particulate) were not  out of the ordinary.  At 6:00 the 24 hour levels were "good" at 25 at the BCR site,   "good" at 23 in College Heights and  "fair" at 27  Downtown.
