The Treaty between the Lheidli T’enneh, the Province of B.C. and the Federal Government will be initialled this Sunday in Prince George.

The initialling of the Treaty sets the stage for ratification by the Lheidli T’enneh and that will likely happen in January. That would be followed by passage of the treaty in the Provincial Legislature, and then passage by the House of Commons.

That will move the Treaty into the implementation stage.

The Sunday Ceremony will be attended by Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dominic Frederick, Premier Gordon Campbell, and the Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development.

In my crystal ball I foretell of many many pick up truck purchases coming on line after the treaty is signed. Life is good. Oh, for an accident of birth.
Does this mean there will be some taxes paid now, or it is going to be the same old, same old until this money runs out?
Never will be "finalized" IMO
