- Sixty three events, two and half days of figure skating summed up plenty of work for the host committee of the Williston Skate in Prince George. The consensus was a job well done by the Spruce City Skating Club.

- He won his event as soon as he skated onto the ice, that’s nothing new for Brenden Thew of Prince George when competing in his home town. The eleven year-old figure skater from the host Spruce City Skating club was one of four boys, the only in Juvenile Men, to take part in the Williston Skate, an event which attracted 259 female figure skaters.
- Despite no one to skate against at the local level, Brenden used his free skate program as a final tune-up before the BC Sectionals beginning November 8th in Chilliwack.
- “For the most part I skated pretty well,” he said. “I will need to work on my consistency for the sectionals.”
- Placing sixth, then third at previous BC Sectionals, this is Brenden Thew’s first year in Juvenile Men.
- “I will just have to stay cool,” said the personable Spruce City figure skater.
- Brenden is one of three Prince George figure skaters who will go against BC’s best in Chilliwack.
- Alexis Thornhill and Stephanie Leong will represent the Prince George Figure Skating Club in Chilliwack.
