The Kemess North environmental assessment hearings are being broadcast on the internet, a measure taken so those unable to travel to Prince George can still hear the sessions.

The hearings are into their third day in Prince George and will continue through Friday.

Today,  the Provincial Ministry of Energy Mines and Petroleum will make presentations on  geology, the mine plan,  and the controversial  waste disposal plan.  That plan would have Duncan(Amazay ) Lake used as a tailings pond.  The  afternoon session will  have presentations from Natural Resources Canada followed by  Ministry of Environment  presentations on climate, waste discharges, water  and air quality.  That will be followed by reports on  impacts on fisheries, wildlife and wetlands.

The audio webcast is available  here.

The sessions in Prince George wrap up Friday afternoon, then the Joint Review Panel will take a break and start a new session in Smithers on the 20th through the 24th.

Does any one truly believe this will not go ahead ? The mighty dollar will win out over the environment and people's health. PG is a prime example of that ! The major polluters in PG should be made to shut down as the particle matter levels approach those that are listed as "people stay inside as the air outside is dangerous". I mean it would only be a few days a year, if you can believe what they say for how often it is bad.
I wished there was a law/meeting rules where the presentations were distilled. Everyone get three minutes, and if the point isn't new you get the gong. That way you could tune in and actually hear what the issues are.

The condensations by the media usually revolve around what's the best tear jerk-er of the day. BooHoo...

I'd probably say fill the lake up, just because the BooHoo crowd are getting so annoying.
