A 60 year old man is dead following an accident with his logging truck.  RCMP from Wells and Quesnel Traffic Services attended a logging operation on Pinegrove Mountain (Troll Ski Resort) around 10:30 this  morning.

Rescue crews on the scene had performed CPR on the driver until an Ambulance arrived but despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the man was run over by his own vehicle.

The man's family has not yet granted permission to release his name.

The accident is now being investigated by the Workers Compensation Board.

I talked to a guy who was at the scene of the truck driver killed near Mount Robson last week. Apperently he was bobtailing, meaning no weight on drivers, lost control and collided with oncomming lumber b-trains and died when his diesel spilled and caught fire buring him in the inferno. Apparently the witnesses are too distressed to return to work.
I feel sad about these deaths. Logging truck operators work hard against great odds.
I Fell really sad, I know the man involved in this accident, he was very safety consious. My condolences to the family. Very tragic.
I suspect it might have gone haywire, and he might have been trying to jump from the truck to save himself and failed to get clear. The kind of roads and road conditions to be dealt with are obscene and everybody wants to investigate, but nobody takes any actions or makes any changes.

My condolences to the family of a good logger.
