Windstorm Knocks Out Power

Several areas of Prince George were without power from just after 6:00 last night till about 4:00 this morning. The windstorm that ripped through the area knocked down trees and which took out power lines.
Power was impacted in parts of the Hart as well as Haldi Road, Buckhorn Lake Road and remains out on Estate Road and Landooz Road.
The wind warning remains in effect this mrorning with winds of 60 kmph gusting to 90 kmph. The wind will die down to 30kmph gusting to 50 kmph later this morning.
Some culprits used the power outage as an opportunity to try and break in to a business on 20th Avenue. Police arrived on the scene at 1600 block of 20th to find four people trying to kick in the front door. Three males and one female were arreted without incident. A 5th person was implicated in the incident, he had gone to hospital to received treatement for a cut to the leg.
