Search Ends for Missing Helicopter Pilot

A Rotor Way Exec Helicopter, similar to the one that crashed at Ootsa Lake

The search for the 53 year old pilot of a homemade helicopter, missing since Monday is over.  

Tragically, the chopper's crash site has been spotted on the shore of Ootsa Lake.  Search and rescue  workers were dropped on to the site,  and confirmed the as yet unnamed pilot was dead at the scene.  

The case has now been turned over to the Prince George Coroner.

The chopper was a Rotow Way Exec  kit model.  The pilot had left Ootsa Lake early Monday on a flight to Francois Lake.  Searchers were called iin Monday night when the pilot failed to reach his destination.

I was on the Francois Lake ferry Tuesday morning and heard a lot of talk about this. I saw a Canadian Forces newer Commorant(spl) series helicopter involved in the search from Ootsa Lake. I think the crash site was near Cheslatta Forest Products mill site?
