It isn't the first time this has happened,  Prince George  RCMP getting a call about a stolen truck, not reporting a  theft, but telling ppolice where the stolen truck  is sitting.

It is becoming a more common occurance as  new trucks are  fitted with  gps tracking devices.  The latest  incident, earlier today,  involved a Ford F-350 pick up with an Arctic Cat Snowmobile on board, and towing a 16'6" aluminum boat equipped with a 175 Sport Jet engine.

The truck, snowmobile, boat, motor and boat trailer, had all been stolen from Ft. St. John .  The RCMP in Ft. St. John  called the Prince George detachment to tell them the vehicle was equipped with a gps, and they were tracking it.  They advised  P.G. the truck was on Carson Road.  Prince George RCMP went to the address, and bingo, one Ford F-350 truck, minus snowmobile, boat and trailer.

The driver of the truck had fled the scene, and although a Police Service dog was brought in, Police weren't  able to locate the suspect.

The truck has been taken to the Identification garage where it will be examined for other evidence.  The investigation continues.

I have the tracker in my vehicles....But would prefer to find it myself....along with a few pals of mine.
And the thief still in it, so we can talk.
