If you went to bed last night thinking you would fill up the tank this morning, if you own a pick up truck that holds 30 gallons ( 135 litres) that fill will cost you $8.10 more today.
Yesterday the gas stations began to up the price by 6 cents a litre (27 cents a gallon) to 96.9 cents a litre.
Crude oil rose 2 cents a barrel for January 2007 to reach $62.45 US in futures trading, A further increase to $63.62 for February 2007 trading.
Here in Prince George the price you pay for a 40 US gallon barrel of gasoline went up by $10.80 cents.
The City of Ft. St. John recently began writing the oil companies complaining that their gas prices were 97.9 cents a litre. The complaint was filed by the Chamber of Commerce in that city asking the Municipal government to act on it.
