The deadline for nominations was 4:00 today, and by that time, the Regional District had received  two          nominations from people who would like to be in the running for the  job as Director for Electoral Area "A", Salmon Valley and the Lakes region.

The nominees are Leif Jensen, who had run for the post in the last election, losing to Dee Burden by a handful of votes.  The  other nominee is Denis Gendron.

The by-election is set for Saturday, January 13th.

The position  became open in mid October when  Director Dee Burden resigned on the eve of being sentenced for defrauding the Royal Bank of more than $30 thousand dollars.
