Two men  are in Prince George Regional Hospital  following an accident on Highway 97 south near Sintich Road.

Prince George RCMP say a  dump truck with a pup was parked on on the southbound shoulder of the road when it was rear-ended by a southbound passenger car.

The 17 year old driver of the car suffered  lacerations, while the 48 year old passenger was unconscious with serious head injuries.  Both were taken to PGRH where they are expected to recover from their  injuries.  The driver of the dump truck was not hurt.

Alcohol  is not suspected as a factor  in this crash.  Police are advising drivers to  adjust their speed to the road conditions, and to keep in mind that with so many people shopping there will be a greater volume of traffic on the roads, and that means there may also be some drivers feeling extra road stress.

Now what are the chances the truck was actually all the way off the road and not just sort of off the road on the narrow shoulders that we have around here ?
same conditions on 97 at the coast as well. The plows do not clear more than they need to at 50 k per hour.
sounds like driver inexperience to me.
Did the vehicle that hit the truck have an "N'"in the back window? I wonder what the "N" stands for? Was there the legally required road "flares" supposedly placed startegically behind the truck for a set distance? Broken down or parked? For what reason was the truck parked? In front of the home of the truck driver? Near a cafe? Assuming anyone coming down the road is in no mood fer surprises, no warning? Hmmmm? Too many questions.
NUTCASE!
A lot more questions than answers. I once came across a logging truck parked in the middle of the dark wet highway with no clean markers and nobody in sight. Damn near drove right into it.
