The Province has announced  the scheduling for the "Conversations on Health".  Prince George will host a public forum at the Coast Inn of the North on March 17th, but the registration deadline is February 2nd.   There will also be a Professional  meeting, it has been set for March 16th at the  Ramada.

There will be 16  Conversations on Health Regional Forums.  The  forums will start in February, with the first one being held in Kamloops.

There are also regional forums set for Fort St. John on May 5th (registration deadline March 23rd) and Smithers May 12th with a registration deadline of March 30th.  In both of those communities the professional  meeting dates are  the  day previous to the  public forum.

Health Minister George Abbott says thousands of ideas have already been submitted through, e-mail, phone calls and the website. Since September, the Conversation website has received over 32,000 visits; about 4,200 people have registered for the public forums; and over 7,000 people have called in or sent written submissions. Weekly reports with summaries and statistics of input can be found on the Conversation website.
"The Government looks forward  to meeting directly with British Columbians at all 16 public forums to hear their values, ideas and solutions so we can improve our health system for today and future generations" says Abbott.

Those wishing to make a submission need to  pre-register, and they will be called to  confirm their attendance .

The last public forum will be held in Vancouver in July 7th.

The input received from people throughout the province will be compiled and presented to the Government in the fall of 2007.

The forums are not the only way to have input,  residents can  make  submissions  in the following ways:

Wow I can't belive the government is going to try and pull this scam again. Let the people think they are having input then do as the government has already decided. The BC version of democracy in action.
