For the second time in a month,  there is a bout of gastrointestinal illness making the rounds at GR Baker Hospital in Quesnel.

Infection control measures are back in place  after two patients and two staff members on the second floor  came down with the illness.  That means,  freinds and family of patients are being asked to take extra precautions before  visiting patients on the second or third floors.  Hand washing stations have been set up and visitors are being asked to check in with the nursing station before entering a patient's room.

Just before Christmas, a wave of Norwalk like illness swept through the third floor of GR Baker hospital.   As was the case  during that outbreak, samples have been sent for analysis to see if this is the Norwalk virus.
