It was a busy night at Prince George City Council as Mayor Colin Kinsley accepts an award for  the City’s involvement in the Spirit Bears program from 8 year old Olivia Beck. Prince George was one of 9 B.C. communities which took part in the  porgram.  Mayor Kinsley  praised Olivia for attending each and every unveiling of the bears in Prince George, even though some of the days were cold and miserable.

City Staff also advised Council of the City being  named the recipient of the Bill Curtis Technical Achievement Award for the work on the Prince George Pedestrian Network Study.  In the photo at right, Mayor Colin Kinsley presents the Bill Curtis Award to staff from L&M engineering and the city’s Transportation  Manager Glen Stanker. The award recognizes one project per year  which demonstrates innovation or special achievement.

And the third  award of the night  was  the  recognition  of the City being  awarded the Worksafe BC Workplace Health and Safety Innovation Award for  implementing the automated garbage collection system.  In the photo at left, Mayor Colin Kinsley presents the award to the  staff  of the Waste Management department.
