By Kelly Sharp
It was a wild ride, but Patti Knezevic and her Prince George teammates have assured themselves of reaching the playoffs in the BC Scottie Tournament of Hearts, provincial women’s curling championship in Kamloops. Skip Knezevic, third Tracey Jones, second Kay Lynn Thompson and lead Melinda Kotsch rebounded from an afternoon loss to Kelley Law with a 7-5 victory over Allison MacInnes of the host club. Trailing 4-3 after 8 ends, the Prince George Golf and Curling Club rink broke open the tight affair with 4 in the 9th end. In other results from the evening draw, Kelley Law doubled Pat Sanders 8-4 in a contest of former World champs. Maria Mallett of New Westminster upset Ashleigh Clark of Richmond 7-4. In a game between non-contenders, Jill Winters of Nelson shaded Sandra Jenkins of Salmon Arm 8-7.
