The Prince George rink of skip Patti Knezevic, third Tracey Jones, second Kay Lynn Thompson and lead Melinda Kotsch are two wins away from capturing the BC Women’s Curling Championship in Kamloops. The Knezevic team advanced to the semi-final of the BC Scottie Tournament of Hearts with a stunning 9-7 extra end come from behind victory over Sandra Jenkins of Salmon Arm. Trailing by 5 after 8 ends, the Prince George foursome scored 2 in the ninth end with the hammer, then stole 3 in the tenth and 2 in the 11th end to finish the 8-team round robin in second place at 5-2. Kelley Law, who won the 2000 Scott Tournament of Hearts in Prince George, finished atop the standings at 6-1 to earn a bye into the Sunday afternoon championship game.

Three teams, Ashleigh Clark of Richmond, Pat Sanders of Victoria and Allison MacInnes of Kamloops finished at 4-3, forcing tie-breakers to determine who will qualify for the semi-final. Clark goes against MacInnes this afternoon; the winner is to meet Sanders tonight. The winner of the evening draw will advance to the semi-final against Knezevic at 9:30 Sunday morning in Kamloops.
