Conversation On Health Deadline Approaches
By 250 News
The provincial government’s first "Conversation on Health" regional forum is set to run in Kamloops this Saturday.
The deadline for area residents to register for the session in Prince George is tomorrow (Friday, February 2nd). The event will held at the Coast Inn of the North on March 17th. (You can register on-line by clicking here)
Prince George is one of only three northern communities set to host one of the 16 forums -- Smithers and Fort St. John are the other two.
Those registering to attend will receive a participant package containing 11 "conversation starters". The Ministry of Health says, "Each starter is a short paper on an important health topic and includes definitions, background information, interesting statistics, questions to think about, and a list of web-based resources that can be used to learn more about the topic."
The topics range from pressures on the health-care system, to seniors and aging, to the Canada Health Act. The Ministry says they represent, "Some of the areas of health and health care where we face significant challenges now and in the future."
