Prince George RCMP say two suspects are in custody facing charges of assault with a weapon and armed robbery in connection with a carjacking attempt that began in the Highglen area.

Police say a couple parked at Ospika Boulevard and MacIntyre Crescent were approached by a young man and young woman and offered money if they gave them a ride to the nearby Lakewood area.

Constable Lesley Dix says once at Lakewood, the young female suspect's demeanor changed and she threatened the occupants of the vehicle with a knife and demanded their money and vehicle.  Dix says the victims stayed calm and refused to turn over the car, instead driving them to the College Heights area where they were left unharmed.

Police surrounded the area and quickly located and arrested the suspects.

This is the second carjacking incident reported in two days, though police do not believe they are connected.  Two male suspects remain at large after robbing a taxi cab driver in the area of MacIntyre and Ospika Boulevard, after the driver refused to turn over his vehicle.

These are the kinda guys the cops should shoot. Hey, you Dudley Do-rights. Change yer shoot to kill priorities. But then again, if the cops did shoot any of these losers, all their family and pals would whine "that he was finally putting his life back together". What a poor society we have become.
