Janet Williams has moved from teaching to administration on a high note...
Williams, who taught at Mackenzie Secondary for seven years, before moving to the elementary school this past fall to become principal has been named a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
The Mackenzie educator was selected by a committee of education stakeholders from across Canada. Recipients are selected based on their excellence and the innovation of their teaching practises.
School District 57 Superintendent, Brian Pepper, says the award recognizes Williams, "As an outstanding teacher who instills in her students a love of learning and equips them with the skills they need to meet the challenges of the 21st century."
She will be honoured at a ceremony at Mackenzie Secondary on Wednesday.
