RCMP seized a prohibited weapon, two restricted electronic communication devices, and a quantity of cash from a vehicle stopped on the city's southern outskirts yesterday.

Police say the vehicle was pulled over for speeding on Highway 97, near Art Knapp's Plantland, after a plain clothes Quesnel officer, also travelling north, recognized the truck as being associated with known drug traffickers from the Quesnel area.

A man and woman in the truck were found to be in breach of their probation conditions stemming from a large illicit drug seizure in Quesnel back in 2004.

The 35-year-old man and 30-year-old woman were released from custody, but charges are pending for breach of probation.

Those two must be really concerned this time that they are in breach of their probation, HeeHee!

What is a restricted electronic communication device? A taser?
Hope they don't hop the bus to Alberta. Then they are free. (And only if they don't get caught again if they come back eventually.)But that is another story. "Come on and get me, you coppers!!! Nyah. Nyah. Nyah."
The police do the leg work, make the arrest, file the charges, lock em up, they are out there every day in the sludge swimming with the scum to apprehend the sordid sorts, then the lawyers and prosecutors come along and MESS IT ALL UP. Go figure. The cops don't "let them go", the lawyers, DA's, and judges do.
